First time ever Responding performance art workshop!
Performance art is not a physical work like painting or sculpture, but rather an art form created through the body, unfolding as a fleeting, momentary event. It encompasses a wide variety of styles, from seemingly meaningless, repetitive movements to the use of liquids and everyday objects as materials, and even involving the audience in the performance. It’s incredibly free and open, making it enjoyable even for beginners! Come and move your body with performance artists from Canada and Japan!

Guest Speakers: Shoko Toda, Shin Onodera, TPAC members (Johanna Householder, Paul Couillard, Kiera Boult, James Knott), Naoyuki Terai
Ishinomaki was a place where people from all over the world gathered at the time of The Great East Japan Earthquake. Fifteen years have passed since then, and the appearance of the city has changed dramatically. We will hear from members of TPAC, an art collective based in Toronto, Canada, a city that continues to lead the way in multicultural coexistence, and invite three people whose praxis involves multicultural coexistence in Miyagi Prefecture, so that we can think about the future of Ishinomaki together with the citizens!

初めてのパフォーマンスワークショップ！
パフォーマンスアートとは、絵画や彫刻のような物理的な作品ではなく、その瞬間限りの出来事として展開される身体によってなされる芸術です。繰り返される一見無意味な運動や、液体や身の回りにあるものをマテリアルとして使用するもの、また、その場所にいる人たち(観客)を巻き込んで作品化したりするものなど、多様でとても自由に開かれているので、初心者でも楽しく表現できます！是非、カナダと日本のパフォーマンス・アーティストたちと一緒に身体を動かしてみましょう！

震災当時は世界中から多種多様な人たちが集まった石巻。あれから15年の月日が経ち、街の様相は大きく変化しました。多文化共生の最先端を走り続ける街、カナダのトロント市を拠点とするアートコレクティブTPACのメンバーのお話を伺いつつ、県内で多文化共生の理念を実践している３名をお招きして、これからの石巻について市民の皆さんと考えてみましょう！
