Alison Knowles Birthday Party FUNDRAISER

In this black and white photograph, a woman with glasses stands in a long, narrow room. She stands to the side of a large hinged display panel, taller than the woman and featuring multiple images. A manual typewriter rests on a small table in front. Other artworks can be seen on the side walls of the room.

Toronto Performance Art Collective, best known for bringing Toronto the 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art, invites you to a fundraising event like no other. Join us in a private home as collective members interpret the late, great Fluxus artist Alison Knowles’ instructional performances. It’s almost 30 years since we brought you the memorable Yoko Ono Birthday Party. We decided it was time to revisit to this format — part homage, part celebration, part historical research into a performance art legend.

Every registration to this event will further our mission of supporting and contributing to a vibrant Toronto-based performance art community, and we promise attendees a joyful, intimate and inspiring evening with collective members Kiera Boult, Paul Couillard, Vanessa Godden, Francisco-Fernando Granados, Johanna Householder, James Knott, and Shalon T. Webber-Heffernan. Don’t miss it!
