MAKITA Yoshia

Yoshiya Makita is a historian, PhD (Hitotsubashi University). He is an assistant Professor, Graduate School of Social Sciences, Hitotsubashi University, Japan. He served as a research fellow at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, an assistant professor at the School of Policy Science at Ritsumeikan University, and a lecturer at Jobu University before assuming his current position. He is currently working on a research project about the transnational history of humanitarianism in the Asia Pacific in the early twentieth century. He has published several essays on this topic, including “The Alchemy of Humanitarianism: The First World War, the Japanese Red Cross, and the Creation of an International Public Health Order,” First World War Studies 5, no. 1 (2014): 117-129, and “Professional Angels at War: The United States Army Nursing Service and Changing Ideals of Nursing at the Turn of the Twentieth Century,” Japanese Journal of American Studies 24 (2013): 67-86.

牧田義也は歴史家。一橋大学専任講師。一橋大学大学院社会学研究科博士後期課程単位取得退学、日本学術振興会特別研究員、立命館大学政策科学部助教、上武大学講師を経て、現職。人制度・思想の国境を越え たつながりに着目したグローバルヒストリーの視点から、人道支援事業の歴史を研究。近年は歴史遺産や文化財の調査を進め、歴史と記憶をめぐる現代社会の政治力学について考察。主要論文 に「広域圏・国際連関・越境空間」『歴史評論』792 号(2016 年)。
