Jenny Keith, co-curator and performer in Sediment, is an interdisciplinary artist, active in creating and producing performance art since graduating from OCA’s New Media Department in 1990. A founding member of Shake Well and Symptom Hall, her artistic practice is embedded in a do-it-yourself activism, gleaned from an adolescent immersion in punk culture. Her work explores the intersection of technology, identity and environment, inspired by a visceral and emotive appreciation of landscape. Highlights include The Home Series at CineCycle, the installation/video performance Tent City at YYZ, a lecture and workshop at Concordia University Masters of Fine Arts program, and The Wind Project at Symptom Hall, all produced by Shake Well. She has presented work at many other events, most recently Circle Square at Spank. Also active in film and video, she is currently working on her first full length film project, enlarging the themes explored in past short pieces. Long term goals include continuing to contribute to a vital performance art community, the establishment of a multi-media publishing entity at Symptom and generally inciting rampant art activity.
