Starting from the body, Martin Renteria creates rituals in which actions, objects, and atmospheres provoke disparate interpretations of the reality we occupy as individuals and as a society. He plays with universal concepts such as space, power, balance, time, uncertainty, essence and the urgent need to establish genuine relationships. Concerned with evolution and a search for higher levels of consciousness, Renteria’s work invites us to analyze the present moment, from which emanates questions about the soul and the future of the planet.
Martin Renteria is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, painting, installation, and performance. With a career spanning more than twenty years, he has represented Mexico in numerous international festivals.
